The 12 Days of Thaankfulness

Meet Winifred S. Tilton .. the newest Pig of Thaankfulness.

Apparently, for generations, a Pig of Thaankfulness has been quietly chosen to remind people of something important.

To notice the people, animals, memories, comforts and ordinary good things that give us reasons to be thaankful.

But also to remind us of something we don't think about nearly enough:
We give others reasons to be thaankful, too.

A secret committee...whose members remain suspiciously unwilling to identify themselves—has selected Winifred as the latest Pig of Thaankfulness.
During her tenure, Winifred has also made one small but important change to the office.
Thankfulness will henceforth be spelled Thaankfulness.
It's a nod to the goats...and Lily the sheep...who welcomed Winifred and Oinkers into the Tilton Hollow family last fall.

And she has plans.
September 12–23: The 12 Days of Thaankfulness
For twelve days, Winifred will share a daily musing about thaankfulness from here at Tilton Hollow.

And during all 12 days, Tilton Hollow orders of $25 or more will receive one of Winifred's special 2 oz Pig of Thaankfulness soy candles...

When your candle arrives, tuck it away somewhere safe.

It's for Thanksgiving Day.

Sometime on Thanksgiving, light your candle and take a few quiet minutes to think about what makes you thaankful.

The people you love. The animals who share your life. Memories. Home. A kindness you haven't forgotten. Something wonderfully ordinary that you're glad exists.

Whatever belongs on your list.

Then remember the other half of Winifred's message:
Somewhere, someone has a reason to be thaankful for you.
It may be someone you love.
It may be someone whose life you touched without realizing how much it mattered.
It may have four legs, feathers, hooves or a tail.
It may very well be all of the above.

And if you receive one of these candles, we can tell you this much for certain:
There are two farmers...and quite a collection of animals...here in an Ohio hollow whose lives have been made better because people like you chose to be part of them.

We are deeply thaankful for that.

One more thing...
Winifred has requested the names and mailing addresses of everyone receiving one of her candles.
She says there will be correspondence before Thanksgiving.
