Farmer Chad: Boy, those copper supplements we gave the goats really worked. They’re looking fantastic.

Farmer Jeff: They definitely look good.

They continue walking through the pasture loving and admiring the goats.

Farmer Chad: What are those shiny things there on the ground.

Farmer Jeff takes a closer look and picks one up. “Ummm, you’re not going to believe this, but it looks like a piece of solid copper goat poop!”.

Farmer Chad: They didn’t list any side effects like that on the copper supplements!

Ok, the goats aren’t pooping pure copper. Farmer Jeff has started dabbling in jewelry making and a process called electroforming. It allows you to coat almost anything in copper. Why goat poop? Well, you guys know we’re wacky. We think it’s fun. A definite conversation piece and fun gift. We’re calling it Gilded Goat Poop ™️

We take dried pellets of goat poop and seal them. They are then coated in a conductive paint, a bail is attached, and they go into an electroforming bath for several hours. They come out encased in copper with their original shape and texture preserved forever.

Farmer Jeff is playing with a few finishes. Some are hand-polished, others Dremel polished. He’s trying antiquing where a patina is formed and lightly polished. He’s also experimenting with flame polishing which creates an interesting rainbow finish.
